PT
Chris Montenyohl

I transitioned into physical therapy after reflecting on my career and asking myself, “Is this what I wanted to be when I grew up?”
This curiosity led me to explore the field through shadowing and eventually surviving the challenges of PT school. Now, I can’t imagine doing anything else.
My typical day starts long before sunrise, with a workout while reviewing my caseload, followed by treating patients throughout the day, and ends with preparing dinner while completing my notes.
In my practice, I emphasize how patients feel during movement, believing that simply mimicking motions isn’t enough. I focus on helping them engage muscles they might not be familiar with and use relatable anatomy and physiology concepts to make the learning stick.
The most rewarding part of my job is when patients excitedly share how they’ve returned to activities they love—pain-free—transforming sources of sadness back into joy. I live by the motto, “Being bad at something is the first step towards being sort of good at something,” from Jake the Dog.
A Cary, NC native, I completed my Doctorate at Elon University and am certified in dry needling, with plans to earn Maitland and McKenzie certifications in the future. Outside of work, you’ll find me hiking, playing soccer, practicing Pilates, or exploring local eateries.
