Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Help reduce swelling, relieve feelings of heaviness or tightness, and support a broader lymphedema treatment plan.

Manual lymphatic drainage, sometimes called lymphatic drainage massage, is a gentle hands-on technique used to encourage lymphatic fluid to move away from swollen or congested areas. Unlike traditional massage, it uses light, carefully directed movements that follow the pathways of the lymphatic system.

This treatment may be recommended for people experiencing lymphedema, swelling following certain surgeries or medical treatments, or other conditions that interfere with normal lymphatic flow. Before beginning treatment, your therapist will evaluate your symptoms and medical history to determine whether lymphatic drainage is appropriate for you.

Manual lymphatic drainage is often most effective when it is incorporated into a broader treatment plan. Depending on your needs, treatment may also include compression, exercise, movement education, skin care, and techniques that can be safely continued at home. Together, these strategies are designed to help control swelling, improve comfort, and support long-term symptom management.
